Initially, I wanted to make two fused spheres because my next project involves crafting many melded sphere designs. However, after some thought, I decided to create something with its own unique form—after all, the workload was quite substantial. So, I shaped it into a gourd-like structure. The main purpose was to test a new technical process: metal weaving. I used two layers of metal material to achieve the woven texture, securing them with rivets to form a new shell structure. This method ensures the desired aesthetic while allowing the piece to support its own weight. I believe that self-supporting art installations like this represent the ideal form of artistic structures.
